While this is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone novel. A story of family, love, second chances, hope, heartbreak, and illegal immigration. A book that is full of shocking twists and turns that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more. A real page-turner! Grippando gives you an inside look at what it is like for the people who are fleeing danger in their home countries and trying to get into the US only to face a new kind of danger.
