Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller is scheduled to the released on September 5, 2017 by Sourcebooks Fire and is a young adult sci-fi fantasy. I have to admit that I truly loved reading this book and felt it was interesting from the first page. I really did not want to put it down. Miller is an amazing writer! The way she created a story that is truly unique, yet very believable. This book really got under my skin because of Miller’s very vivid, realistic characters and setting. Last Semester by Corine Mekaouche was release on April 21, 2017 and is a new adult, romance novel. The writer creates the prefect college setting with the usual group of friends with each character sharing their own coming to age story. I really like how these characters seem like any other college student. The setting helps to add to the complex story line. I feel like you can easily relate to one or more. She owns Luciana’s, a popular but not famous food truck in the Bay Area of San Francisco. While at work in her food truck, she must learn what it takes to make it and get the food critics attention. One day while at a food festival see runs into her high school crush, Drew. He is on leave and before he is deployed back to Iraq he wants to patch things up with his dad. But his father owns the restaurant that is causing Camille problems with her food truck. Soon Drew finds himself having to choose between his family and Camille. Marcelo creates a very unique plot line that is perfect for romance. The characters he created have a deep back story that adds to the overall story. I found the ending to be a surprise that I did not see coming. I highly recommend this book and look forward to more from this author.
